ABOUT DON’S STOVE SHOP & CHIMNEY CARE

Don Oakes owned and operated his chimney maintenance business, Don’s Chimney Care, since the mid 80’s and serviced the majority of Franklin county as well as several local towns in the neighboring counties.  After 20 years of operating this business, in 2005 he decided that he would like to have a place to send his customers to purchase a high quality heating appliance combined with the excellent customer service that he had already been providing.  The merger of Don’s Chimney Care with the retail sales of hearth products took place in September of 2006 and Don’s Stove Shop, Inc. (aka Don’s Chimney Care & Stove Shop) was born. We are a small business with only 5 full time employees, a couple of seasonal employees and Ashes the shop kitty who oversees the operations and the bird feeders.

SERVICES 

Don’s Stove Shop, Inc. continues to offer the same chimney maintenance services that we’ve been providing for the past 30 year as well as the following:

  • Retail sales, installation & service of hearth products (stoves, inserts & fireplaces)
  • Retail sales & installation of fireplace doors
  • Retail sales & installation of stainless steel chimney caps
  • Class A (metal) chimney sales/installations
  • Chimney inspections
  • Chimney sweeps
  • Chimney liners
  • Masonry repair (includes water seal, flashing repair, chimney top offs, crown replacement, etc.)
  • Retail sales of repair parts/repairs for other brand stoves such as Pelpro, Glow Boy, Enviro, Englander, St. Croix.

EDUCATION 

We specialize in chimneys/hearths/venting and recognize the importance of education.  Our technicians are required to undergo extensive training order to receive their local and national certifications. Continued education is an ongoing priority so our technicians take online classes as well as attend industry seminars each year in order to stay current with industry changes.  You can be assured that our technicians have attained the skill level necessary to complete the job we are hired to do.

Our technicians show up in a lettered vehicle identifying the business as well as wear identifiable shirts so you can feel safe in knowing that it Don’s Stove Shop & Chimney Care that has arrived to do the job.  Each technician can also provide a photo id with their credentials to further prove their identity.

Our goal is to educate the you about the scope of the job that we are hired for, provide you with any/all options available, perform the work to the highest level of safety and customer satisfaction that we can provide and give you the assurance that we are here for you after the sale/job is complete.   The technicians @ Don’s Stove Shop & Chimney Care are trained and certified chimney sweeps that can properly assess the condition of your chimney prior to connecting any new appliance to it and advise you on what may have to be addressed in order for the installation to meet code.  The safety of you and your family IS our # 1 priority!!
